TUP-Visayas

ADMISSION
Entrance Requirements:
Students who want to study at TUP-Visayas must satisfy the following
requirements before they are admitted to the different curricular programs:

For entrance to the Technician Program leading to BSET:
High school graduate
Physically fit
Minimum height of 1.5 meters (5 ft.)
Filipino citizen
16 to 25 years old

For entrance to the five-year engineering program leading to BSME or BSECE:

High school graduate & entering college for the first time
Grades of 80 and above in Mathematics, Science. And Communication Arts
No failing grade in any high school subject
Physically fit
Minimum height of 1.5 meters (5 ft.)
Filipino citizen
16 to 25 years old
The students must also pass the Scholastic & Technical Aptitude Test
(STAT), including the interview that follows.

Student Assessment System:
In order to determine the progress of every student in every subject of the
course being taken, the school is implementing an innovative assessment system. This is the Continuous Assessment System.
The Continuous Assessment System requires that the teachers assess the
level of competence of each of the student enrolled in the subject every week and submit the weekly grades to the Registrar’s Office for proper encoding and processing by the school’s computers.
Grade points are from 0 to 10 with 5 as the minimum level of acceptable
performance of the student. Students who fail in a subject for the week are advised to report to their teacher for tutorial session.

Shown below is the Grading System of the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas

6.0 – 6.9 79 – 82 Satisfactory
5.0 – 5.9 75 – 78 Fair
4.9 and below 70 Failure
Inc. Incomplete
Dr. Dropped
W Withdrawn

TUITION FEES
As per Implementing Order No. 2000-79, dated April 3, 2000, there is ten
percent (10%) adjustment in tuition and miscellaneous fees for first year incoming students starting S.Y. 2000-2001.
