ey, people, can you help me pls? medyo shy ako kay di ko kabalo pero any recommendations from you guys on how to make a program or a program (language??) that will converts the input data.. say gusto ko mKITA ANG EQUIVALENT or corresponding amount for a specific item. ahay ah...
what???

The KG - July 5, 2005 10:58 AM (GMT)
daw data base na mean mo? dapat kabalo ka mag MS Access, kag MS excel, ok naman na ang MS Excel...I-input mo ang Item sa isa ka cell then sa tupad sina na cell ang corresponding equivalent? Then may ara na formula sa excel na tawag VLOOKUP(means vertical lookup man guro), daw gina pangita nya ang data vertically, the other one is HLOOKUP i think, pero VLOOKUP lang anay gamita. Kag MS EXcel lang gamita maayo tani kuing kabalo ka mag gamit Access kay ma customize nimo imo data viewing...

About sa VLOOKUP - try looking for tips sa excel help, just press F1 kung active imo MS Excel Window. Then search for "VLOOKUP". Di ko sweto sang excel gid.

Indi ni siya matawag programming ang sa Excel miga, pero in my understanding lapit2 ni sa imo gina pangita...

Hope this helps!

Heres a site about vlookup

and heres a sample workbook

Hi Star ! Do you mean like unit conversions <for example lbs to grams, etc> ?

Cheers.

thanks to both of you na nagreply!
sakto si KG, daw database... store tanan nga significant info.. tapos one-stop query w/out sorting sang files. gin-try ko ang hambal nya and it works. pero kung hambal mo na mas ok ang MS access, try ko man study para mas ok. Pag excel be basi may possiblity na ma-edit ang formula or data kung may iban nga users. Thank you gid!

try protecting your data/formula by protecting the cells sa Excel file....ara na sa may tools>protection, this will make protected cells unedittable...ang i unprotect mo lang ang cell where you will put in the data sang imo i query...thats all

tsakto man si kenshin about sa VB, ang access may VB functions mana...pero di ko kabalo gd mag VB...lol...kung access gamiton mo nami man kay pwede ka kahimo dialogue box for each function, say ang dialogue box nimo sa adding data lain, sa querying lain man...tun-i lang access. :thumb:
